Podcast Extra - November 16

The Tilehurst End Podcast Extra returns after the international break as Olly sits down with the Wokingham Paper's Tom Crocker to review the win at Derby, discuss a couple of recent transfer rumours and look ahead to Saturday's clash with Championship leaders Wolves.

In just 180 minutes of football, Jaap Stam has unleashed this Reading team from timid relegation worriers into an awesome attacking outfit.

Chewing over how it all went right for the Royals this week are Marc, Ben Greenwood and Jonny Williams with your questions in the mailbag also up for answering as we work out how the team can maintain this momentum.

Newsbites sees the trio discuss Yann Kermorgant's new deal and recap the action across Reading's Women's and Junior teams, whilst in Any Other Business, they preview the Wolves game after the international break.

Podcast Extra - November 3

A defeat to Middlesbrough and a win over Nottingham Forest are reviewed by Olly and the Wokingham Paper's Tom Crocker, whilst the duo also discuss Yann Kermorgant's new contract and Jaap Stam's tactics before looking ahead to Reading's trip to Derby County.

You know what, Reading had their moments on Saturday. With a fresh homegrown striker up top and a bit of pizzazz about them, the Royals showed glimpses of taking a result off Middlesbrough amid a dire run under Jaap Stam.

However, as Steve 'Royal Hoops' Curtis puts it in TTE Podcast Episode 142, it was two steps forward and three steps back as the hosts eventually slumped to a 2-0 defeat.

Hoops is joined by Chris Hartley and regular host Marc Mayo in this episode to discuss what went wrong at the Mad Stad, how much time Jaap Stam has left to turn things around, and preview the Tuesday night clash with Nottingham Forest.

Podcast Extra - October 27

Olly and Tom Crocker discuss Jaap Stam's future, the Dutchman's change of tactics and whether first team opportunities could be given to Sam Smith and Adrian Popa. Meanwhile, Saturday's game against Middlesbrough is also previewed with injury news and predictions.

After the joy of Leeds came the reality of Sheffield and, no, we're not talking about some sort of Yorkshire pub crawl.

Instead Marc and Westy are left to reflect on a disappointing return to Reading's 2017/18 standard procedure as the team lost 2-1 at Brammal Lane with plenty of mailbag questions to answer in analysing the defeat.

Also on the agenda is a pubchat regarding the possibility of having statues installed at the Mad Stad with two games in quick succession also previewed in TTE Podcast No. 141.

Episode 140: The New TTEra

Join the new host of The Tilehurst End Podcast, Marc Mayo, as he runs the rule over Reading's fantastic late show at Leeds United with Steve Curtis aka Royal Hoops.

Discussing how Jaap Stam pulled a new formation out the bag along for the 1-0 win, the guys mull over whether this truly is the new dawn after a tricky period for the Dutch manager and his side, or a shot in the dark that landed on the bullseye.

Also on the show are your questions in the mailbag, a brace for a genuine young prospect in an England shirt in newsbites, and a look ahead to Sheffield United away on the weekend.

Wimb bids farewell to the show after 139 episodes, but there’s plenty of Reading FC debate to get into before the curtain falls. We’ll look back on a miserable few weeks for Jaap Stam but try to find reasons for Reading fans to be positive coming out of the International break.

So come join us for the last show of the old era and here’s to a new era to come.

Podcast Extra - September 29

How much pressure is now on Jaap Stam, are the players behind him and will his plans pay off in the long term? These are three of the questions we try to tackle in today's Tilehurst End Podcast Extra with The Wokingham Paper. As well as that we've got a roundup of the key injury news, details of a new contract and a look ahead to tomorrow's game with Norwich City.

The football itself may have been far from memorable but it’s safe to say that Jaap Stam’s post-match comments will live long in the memories of some fans. The Reading boss defiantly took on the boo boys, but did he pick the right time to do so, after a dour home draw with Hull.

We look back at the good, the bad and the ugly from Saturday and analyse just where it’s going wrong and what both manager and fans might have to do to change the mood around the Mad Stad.

We’ve also got tons of feedback from yourselves on those issues, with a rather bulging mail sack. As always, this is a show by fans for fans, so we always welcome that feedback, so thanks for sticking with us.
