It is four years since Brian Tevreden, in his new role as Reading’s Director of Football, brought Jaap Stam to Berkshire to begin ‘the Dutch Revolution’. A lot has happened since then, and Brian now joins The Tilehurst End Podcast to go through the good and the bad.

The 38-year-old discusses recruitment strategy, the development of young players and the hectic nature of the transfer window before giving his honest thoughts on how Reading changed dramatically when Ron Gourlay was appointed CEO in 2017. We also learn what Brian is up to now, and finish with a chat on the Black Lives Matter movement and the lack of BAME individuals in boardroom positions and coaching roles in football.

Many thanks to Brian for chatting with us - it’s well worth a listen for a fascinating insight into how the club looked during a turbulent time behind the scenes.

Middlesbrough and Blackburn both scored late to send Reading FC into the final game of the season off the back of consecutive defeats.

The Tilehurst End Podcast reconvenes for Episode 230 with Marc Mayo joined by Adam Jones to discuss the latest losses and where the Royals go from here; reviewing the games in Recap, answering your Mailbag questions, discussing the market in Newsbites and then looking ahead to Swansea in Big Match Preview.

Two goals at the end of the first-half left Reading FC empty handed after a relatively decent showing at Derby on Saturday.

Marc and Westy sit down for The Tilehurst End Podcast and look into how the Royals have plenty of good players but little in the way of an ideal system to fit them together. After over 100 days without football, Reading Football Club showed that not so much has changed.

A 1-1 draw versus Stoke came after an iFollow debacle and a late equaliser, and a game the Royals really should have won. Marc Mayo talks to Olly and Adam from The Tilehurst End for the latest podcast episode, featuring your questions in the mailbag, newsbites and a preview of next weekend’s trip to Derby.

Not many people can provide behind-the-scenes insight into one of the best periods of Reading’s recent history as well as one of the worst. But Nigel Gibbs, assistant manager to both Brian McDermott and Paul Clement, certainly can.

A legend at Watford as a player, Gibbs chats to The Tilehurst End about his Royals journey, from joining the club in 2006 to help coach the reserve squad, to helping the first team win a magnificent promotion in 2012. He then returned to Berkshire in 2018, by which point it was a totally different club.

The 54-year-old also discusses coaching a young Gylfi Sigurdsson, what happened at half-time in the 2011 play-off final, his favourite Reading memories and more.

Every Reading FC fan dreams of hopping off their seat and stepping onto the hallowed Madejski Stadium turf.

As Tom McIntyre tells The Tilehurst End Podcast, his first chance to do just that ended in tears - as he was told to stay put while just a kid as fans invaded the pitch to herald the Championship title being won in 2006.

Over the following years, coming through the academy while following the club home and away, he progressed far enough to earn a senior debut last season and has remained in the first-team mix ever since.

The 21-year-old sat down with TTE to discuss life as a footballer during the coronavirus pandemic, how he has enjoyed his time in the Reading team, and his favourite memories from watching on in the stands.
