Anyone hoping for an instant return to the Reading FC of old was brazenly mistaken on Saturday as the Royals took to the pitch for the first time after Ron Gourlay’s resignation as CEO to draw 0-0 with Wigan Athletic.
The point keeps Paul Clement’s out of the drop zone on goal difference and TTE Podcast returns to understand how the game in Lancashire panned out, as well as discuss Gourlay’s exit in-depth, answer your questions in the mailbag, and preview Tuesday’s daunting trip to Leeds United.

You can’t beat a win but you can ask some serious questions of how Reading got through their 3-2 triumph over Bristol City on Saturday, with the team still lodged inside the Championship relegation zone.
Two quickfire equalisers and a serious deficit in the battle for shots and possession meant it was far from a cruise at the Madejski Stadium, but at the very least the fans went home feeling pretty entertained throughout a breathless 90 minutes.
