The Tilehurst End Podcast: Adam Le Fondre Interview
Friday Oct 12, 2018
Friday Oct 12, 2018
Sometimes it's nice to look back on happier times when Reading aren't doing so well, so that's exactly what we did by getting Adam Le Fondre on The Tilehurst Podcast!
The former Royals striker joins Olly Allen to discuss his three year stint in Berkshire, which included winning the Championship in his first season, playing in the Premier League and then missing out on the play-offs on the final day back in the second tier.
All of this and everything inbetween is covered in our chat with Alfie, from that iconic night away to Southampton, his relationship with Brian McDermott and Nigel Adkins and his eventual exit from the club that appeared to save the club from going into administration. The 31-year-old, now at Sydney FC in Australia, talks open and honestly about his career in the blue and white hoops, and we can only thank him for giving up his time to speak with us.

A defeat to West Brom is bad enough, but on the back of a home loss to Queens Park Rangers? Questions have to be asked. And that’s exactly what The Tilehurst End is here to do for Episode 171 of the podcast by Reading fans, for Reading fans.
Marc Mayo hosts Simeon ‘BucksRoyal’ Pickup and debutant Matt ‘PannasAndNutmegs’ Lawrence for a rundown of the major errors from the owners, board, manager and players that have led to a poor week to end an otherwise reasonable run of form.
A bumper mailbag section answers your questions on Paul Clement, Ron Gourlay, injuries, and much more, after the Recap and Newsbites detail the week’s major goings on. Finally, we look ahead to the five crunch matches that await the Royals following the international break.

TTE Podcast Episode 170: A Curious Point & A Trip Down Memory Lane
Sunday Sep 30, 2018
Sunday Sep 30, 2018
It was a late goal that denied Reading a useful win at Brentford on Saturday and The Tilehurst End podcast returns to determine if the draw is one to feel good about despite the initial feeling of a missed opportunity.
Two rather fortunate goals gave the visitors a fighting chance at Griffin Park and, with the hosts down to ten men, a headed equaliser still meant that Reading were the first team to avoid defeat away to the Bees this season.
With the QPR game previewed ahead of Tuesday night’s game, Marc Mayo and Will Jones also take an in-depth look back at the 2008/09 season, ten years on. Have you any memories on Steve Coppell’s last, somewhat futile campaign? Get in touch!

It’s a tricky trip to Brentford for Reading this weekend as they look to build upon their 3-0 win over Hull, a result which has given Olly Allen and the Wokingham Paper’s Tom Crocker a bit of hope in this week’s podcast. The pair also discuss the Royals’ team news, including how Paul Clement moves the defence around after John O’Shea’s red card and whether Mo Barrow should be restored to the side from the start. Our opposition view this week comes from Billy Grant from Brentford podcast Beesotted.

Yet another dour defeat was followed up by the first home league win in 182 days this week as Reading FC showed that inconsistency at least means you occasionally win.
With a week off before the trip to Brentford, the mood has certainly been lifted around the Mad Stad thanks to the 3-0 beating of Hull, but will it last?
Joining Marc Mayo to chew over the position Paul Clement’s team find themselves in are Simeon ‘BucksRoyal’ Pickup and Paula Martin, who updates the show on all things Reading FC Women and STAR.
